6 Questions with Mitel's Laura Buttimer

TBI Highlights Woman of the Channel, Laura Buttimer of Mitel

Laura Buttimer is currently the National Channel Manager at Mitel, where she has been for over seven years, mostly in a Channel Manager role.

Laura is originally from Miami, FL but grew up in metro Atlanta. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Political Science (Go Dawgs!), and a few years later began her career in telecommunications at BellSouth. She made a few other company stops along the way, before coming over to Mitel.

Two years ago, she and her husband built their dream home in Eatonton, GA on Lake Oconee where they live with their fur baby named Cletus. She has three grown step kids, and one granddaughter. She loves spending time with friends and entertaining at the house, traveling, real estate and college football.

What do you love about your job?

Cloud is our fastest growing product and master agency is our fastest growing channel, so it is a fast paced environment and never a dull moment. It's really an exciting time! And I love working at Mitel. I've got the best team in the industry.

What do you like about working with TBI?

I love TBI's approach to the market by offering a greater depth of resources to the agent community. As a past regional channel manager at Mitel, I can attest that TBI's pre-sales marketing and post sales support can help an agent successfully and profitably make the pivot from premise based to cloud based sales. Additionally, TBI's corporate culture is very similar to Mitel's in that we both have a great group of people to work with. I truly enjoy the people I work with at TBI.

What is a key tidbit you give to others?

Follow your dreams, take chances, and create your own path.

Favorite vacation/getaway destination?

My job requires a lot of business travel, and I live on a lake in Georgia, so I'm real keen on taking a "staycation"! But I do love my beach getaways including Naples, FL. I went to Hawaii for the first time a few years ago and I'm eager to go back!

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

Time travel - to both the past and future would be really cool.
