6 Questions with TBI's Nikki Roiland

Telecom Master Agent and technology distributor, TBI, highlights Woman of the Channel, Nikki Roiland from TBI.

As Senior Accounting Manager, Nikki leads TBI’s internal accounting team, working closely with the Sr. VP of Finance and Director of Finance to standardize TBI's internal GL and department coding.

Nikki's team also concentrates on increasing efficiencies within the department, developing new P&L and cash flow forecast reports and working closely with TBI’s external accounting firm. She started her career in accounting 7 years ago while finishing her degree online. Since then, Nikki has held positions in multiple different industries, from construction to reprints/publication. She started at TBI in August, 2018 as Senior Accountant, was promoted to Accounting Manager in October, 2018, and was most recently promoted to Senior Accounting Manager in October of 2019. 

When she takes her Accounting Excel Wizard hat off, Nikki enjoys spending time with her two dogs (Hollie and Hank), working on DIY projects at home, and being outside (when it’s warm enough).

Accounting is the language of business, and I love helping others understand the stories that financial reports tell us.

What do you like about working at TBI?

The people – everyone is always happy to help each other.  It is truly like having an extended family at the work place.

What is a key tidbit you give to others? 

You can do anything you put your mind to. Try hard, pivot, and never give up.

Favorite vacation/getaway destination? 

Anywhere in the Caribbean on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

Teleporting! Escaping the Chicago cold would be seconds away, and traffic would be a problem of the past.
