I love New York.
And last week I had an amazing opportunity to travel there for a major partner event.
As a National Channel Manager, I support partners throughout the country. At times, it can be difficult to meet every partner face-to-face or visit them as often as I would like, so I jumped at the chance to help put together a special event for our Manhattan area partners. Together with our Premier Solution Provider, Comcast, we hosted over 25 current and prospective partners who joined us for a great evening of food, drinks – and hockey!
Our event kicked off at Stout NYC, deemed the midtown “place for a pint”. Comcast National Partner Channel Manager Vivian Chavez and I hosted our guests over sumptuous appetizers, and of course, Irish beverages.
First we shared an overview and update on all things TBI, including our rebranding campaign (which features the new website you are reading this post on) and enhancements to our award-winning pre-sales support team.
Next came Vivian’s announcement of an exciting new Comcast Enterprise Sales “Vegas Sweepstakes” contest, exclusive to TBI partners and running through December 21, 2014.
The Sweepstakes offers some fabulous prizes – an exotic car rental, a Las Vegas helicopter tour, luxury stays at a premier Las Vegas Hotel, and heaps of spending money – all of which will be awarded prior to next year’s Channel Partners Conference and Expo in Las Vegas.
Comcast Regional PSM Scott Rubinson and Sales Engineer Denene Thompson then outlined Comcast’s new nationwide Ethernet solutions, answering all the tough technical questions thrown their way (Gosh, they were good!). Our partners left with a crystal clear picture of WAE and a better understanding of the value Comcast brings to both the SMB and Enterprise markets.
Our goal of educating our partners and enabling them to sell new, high-margin services was complete. Next it was off to Madison Square Garden to watch “crosstown” rivals the New York Rangers and the New York Islanders duke it out on the ice. In the end, the Islanders bested the Rangers, but not before we all had a great time rooting for our respective teams (Note: I stayed true to my hometown Chicago Blackhawks).
Coordinating the busy schedules of partners and providers is seldom an easy task, but these trips are always well worth the effort. My special thanks to all of the partners and prospective partners who attended as well as to Comcast for co-sponsoring the event.
In the next few months, TBI and Comcast are planning similar roadshow events. Be on the lookout for more information on dates and details. We would love to have you join us!
