He spent 14 years working in the finance and accounting departments of four different telecommunications vendors: Allegiance Telecom, CIMCO, McLeodUSA, and PAETEC. Before becoming TBI’s VP of finance, his most recent position was CFO of Access Media 3.

Since joining TBI three and a half years ago, he has helped double revenue and staff, and he spearheaded the selection and deployment of a new company-wide CRM. He has also been extremely influential in helping TBI maintain the highest quality commission payouts for partners.

When he’s not in the office crunching numbers, he enjoys spending time with his family. Particularly, he enjoys cheering for his two sons at their wrestling matches. Read on for the full press release.

Lists Champions and Unsung Heroes in the IT Channel100-people-2016-400.jpg

CHICAGO, IL - October 3, 2016 – TBI is proud to announce that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has recognized Pete Shah, VP of finance, as one of its 100 People You Don’t Know But Should in the IT channel for 2016.

The CRN editorial team, assessing feedback from solution providers and other industry executives, compiles this annual list to celebrate under-the-radar channel management team members from the industry's top vendors and distributors. Those selected have worked tirelessly to create, promote and manage programs and policies that support and advance the IT channel.

As the Vice President of Finance at TBI, one of the nation’s leading telecommunications master agents and technology services distributors, Pete Shah is in charge of overseeing accounting, commissions, HR, and financial planning and analysis. During his three-and-a-half-year tenure at TBI, Shah has implemented new processes that have allowed for more accurate forecasting, greater transparency in commissions, better breakdowns of transactions and clearer communications between carriers and channel partners. He currently works to conduct proactive audits with carriers, identify any potential discrepancies, and improve internal SLAs with partners.

“We’re excited that Pete has received this award,” said Geoff Shepstone, president of TBI. “He has been instrumental in TBI’s success over the past few years, and I’m confident he will continue to play a significant role through our next stages of growth and development. I’m glad the industry has recognized him for his exceptional work.”

“There are a number of people who work behind the scenes in the channel whose efforts do not often receive widespread attention, although they truly help to hold up the entire industry and make it the thriving, smoothly functioning ecosystem that it is,” said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company. “We are pleased to shine a spotlight on these individuals with CRN’s 2016 list of 100 People You Don’t Know But Should list and to honor their important work, which quietly underpins the infrastructure of the IT channel and allows the community to advance as a whole.”

The 2016 list of 100 People You Don’t Know But Should will be featured in the October issue of CRN and can be viewed online at www.crn.com/100people.
