TBI adds Former Vice President of Technical Services at Wired Networks To Executive Leadership Team

CHICAGO – January 16, 2018 – TBI announced today that Steve Roos, former Vice President of Technical Services at Wired Networks, has joined the master agent as Vice President of Engineering. Steve brings over 35 years of telecom experience to TBI’s Senior Leadership team. At TBI, he will be responsible for developing, planning and coordinating the implementation of practices, policies, programs and procedures for TBI’s Engineering and Operations efforts.

Steve comes to TBI from Wired Networks where he oversaw the training of telecom carriers and internal technicians on complex services solutions and taught them how to sell specific voice and data solutions. As the Vice President of Technical Services, Steve also installed Layer 1, 2, and 3 networking solutions and supported the sales team as a Systems-Solutions Engineer. Most recently, he developed Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions and services for private, public and hybrid customer clouds in the healthcare, oil and gas and financial industries.

Steve Roos, TBI Vice President of EngineeringSteve began his career in the United States Air Force as a Systems Control Technician where he was  responsible for all aspects of communications from implementation to security. During his 20 year career, he tested and evaluated Department of Defense communications systems throughout the world. Steve also worked as the Lead Engineer for Joint Task Forces in support of Alaskan Command and developed a secure command and control structure for the National Security Agency. Steve retired from the Air Force in 2001 as a Master Sergeant and received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

Following his distinguished Air Force career, Steve worked for Spohn Consulting and served in various roles including, solutions engineer, consultant and trainer. Steve trained AT&T, Century Link, Verizon and Accenture staff on voice and data network services and how to sell specific voice and data solutions. In his role as a consultant, Steve deployed Dense Wave Division Multiplexors and SONET devices across four Las Vegas casinos.

“My strong suit is designing networks and building network migrations and I hope to use these skills to help push TBI’s agents to better serve our partners,” shared Steve.

Steve received an Associates Degree in Applied Science and Technical Information Systems from the Community College of the Air Force. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Occupational Education. Steve holds several certifications including Cisco CCNP, CCDP, CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer, Microsoft MCSE,  VMware VCP5 and Adtran ATSP.
