CHICAGO, IL — April 1, 2020. To better respond with in-region support for global partners and overseas business, TBI hires industry veteran Toni Leopoldo as Director of Sales based in the UK. TBI has a considerable set of partners based both in the UK and surrounding European countries; and as companies within EMEA rely more heavily on consultants for advice and vendor recommendations, the company found a leader in Leopoldo for the European indirect frontier.
Before the current economic state and uncertainty we find ourselves in due to the global pandemic, economic factors and repercussions of Brexit had analysts forecasting a slower growth rate of IT spend (3% from 6% in 2019). Yet, despite current happenings and slowdown of spend, by 2023 IDC estimates annual IT and telecom spending will exceed $994 billion, driven mainly by the software and services markets.
Within the last few years, TBI has seen a shift within businesses abroad, their shift and reliance upon the technology consultant as a trusted advisor. Its European partners are playing key component in the technology supply chain. And these consultants are also recognizing that value of what master agents offer as far as access, access to key vendors and support needed to provide clients best-in-class advice, solutions, cost and implementation.
Toni brings nearly twenty years of IT/SaaS sales experience to his role as Director of Sales, where he will be responsible for leading TBI’s UK/European business; building partnerships and managing additional in-market support as added throughout the year. “I look forward to introducing TBI to the UK and European markets,” Toni remarked. “It’s going to be a challenge—as the value proposition of a Master Agent is just starting to take hold, but it’s one I’m ready and willing to take on; I’m confident TBI’s differentiators with technical expertise, operational excellence, training programs and marketing support will truly enable European-based resellers opportunity to grow their respective businesses.”
His background is interesting having started his professional career in the family business—restaurants and hotels. Once he moved on from hospitality, his foray into IT began when he helped to design a risk assessment package for the manned- security industry, a London-based company that offered close protection, surveillance and counter-surveillance solutions. He then successfully sold that risk assessment software package into the Foreign and Commonweath Office at every major High Street bank.
Toni’s roles following included Sales Director of startup reseller as well as senior positions in distribution. He made his way to the vendor side of the IT world with roles at Sophos, Aryaka and Fuze. Working in the IT industry, Toni has brought a number of high-tech solutions to Europe; and has been recognized in numerous ways, being awarded Distributor of the Year (highest sales volume) and having been invited to speak at partner kick-offs for a network access control vendor in San Francisco.

Toni is married and lives in the UK with his wife and two children – a daughter, 16 and a son, 19. His hobbies include rugby and cycling—road racing and mountain biking; he believes that cycling provides not only a physical benefit but also allows the mind to rest and re-focus. Toni is passionate about his family and is a professional chef.
