CHICAGO – January 8, 2020 – Tech Gurus, a team comprised of TBI's solution engineers, architects and subject matter experts, adds two new players with the addition of John Romeo as Cloud Communications Architect and James Demetrius as Cloud Infrastructure Architect. VP of Engineering Anish Patel made these significant technology hires to better enable our partners’ to sell emerging technologies.
Romeo is a Contact Center Solutions Sales Engineer with over 24 years of extensive expertise in cloud solutions including contact centers and unified communications. He is a dynamic technical leader and strategic planner with more than 30 years of experience impacting enterprise performance through expert alignment of IT resources with corporate objectives.
Romeo attended Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Management Information Systems. His experience involves many years of product management, technical sales and sales engineering in the UCaaS and CCaaS space with companies such as Cisco, AT&T & Verizon. Romeo most recently came from Tata Communications where there he led the US practice for contact center technologies. During his tenure at AT&T Labs, Romeo authored two US patents in voice IVR technology. He also holds multiple UCaaS and CCaaS certifications from Cisco with additional expertise in Amazon technologies.
At TBI, Romeo will support partners' current and future contact center technologies with the objective to grow their business. He is located in Austin, Texas and is married with two children; he is passionate about live music and enjoys the Austin music scene in his free time.

Demetrius obtained his Bachelor of Science, Computer Science at Western Connecticut State University. He brings many years of experience in the industry, working at technology companies including IBM, Savvis Communications and his most recent position at CenturyLink. At CenturyLink, Demetrius was a solutions architect for managed hosting, cloud and hybrid solutions. He worked across all industries including financial, manufacturing, healthcare, entertainment and others, advising on solutions that would allow companies to operate more efficiently and cost effectively. Demetrius also created solutions that utilized both the datacenter and other products sold by CenturyLink and their partners that allowed customers to focus on their day-to-day business and not worry about the infrastructure and management of their environments.
Demetrius and his wife have been living in North Charlotte, NC for three years. They live close to Lake Norman where they spend time jet skiing on the lake in the summer months and hiking and bike riding the rest of the year. Demetrius is a novice wine maker in his spare time and enjoys riding his pedal bike as well as his motorcycle. Demetrius also held the position of Assistant Chief for the Southbury Volunteer Fire Department, serving 20,000 residents and 20 square miles of town.
At TBI, Demetrius will serve as Cloud Infrastructure Architect and will be a key member of the customer-facing engineering team. He will be responsible for providing advanced pre-and-post-sales support for the channel sales team by designing, proposing and closing both existing and new opportunities in the hybrid-cloud and virtualization space as well as ensuring a successful customer experience.
