TBI Adds Three New Hires to Sales and Business Development Teams

CHICAGO – January 6, 2020 – TBI announced today David Hick, Gilbert Davis and Mark McNeill as the newest members of the TBI family. Hick and Davis are coming in as channel managers while McNeill is joining our Vendor Business Development team. 

David Hick is the new channel manager for TBI's Northeast region; he lives in Connecticut. In this role, Hick will work with partners developing business plans to reach their company’s growth goals. He will support selling partners in his region with on-going training, in-market technical support, producing events, and will also keep them up-to-date on vendor offerings.

Before joining TBI, Hick served as a Channel Manager at Windstream for the Northeast region, supporting all selling partners in the state of Connecticut, Maine and New York. Prior to that, he was in direct sales at Windstream as a major Account Executive. Hick has extensive experience selling strategic solutions such as SD-WAN, UCaaS, CCaaS, and network security. The past five years Hick significantly increased revenue within his partner base, driving over $50 million in contract revenue,  achieving Presidents Club status and consistently ranking in the top 5 Channel Managers in the country.

Hick attended both Southern New Hampshire State University and Southern CT State University for a degree in Business Administration. Hick is happily married to his wife of 25 years and they have three sons in college. He's very excited to join team TBI and said, "In the words of Zig Ziglar “an optimist is someone who goes after Moby Dick in a rowboat and brings the tartar sauce with him”.

 

Gilbert Davis will serve as a Channel Manager supporting the Southeast region; he lives in North Carolina. In this role, Davis will work with partners developing business plans to reach their company’s growth goals. Davis graduated from Colby College with a BA in Economics. Shortly after he received his BA, Davis stated his career in telecom sales where he was an account manager at Pine Tree Networks and has continued to work in the industry; his most recent position was Senior Channel Sales Manager at Office Depot. Davis made a significant impact at Office Depot as a founding member of the team that sells Managed IT as a Service (ITaaS / MSP) solutions to customers by partners throughout the US via the acquisition of CompuCom. He was the top billing Sales Channel Manager on the team, achieving 149% of his quota for Q2 2019. Davis made two of the largest single ITaaS sales, resulting in a significant deal for the channel team. He also sourced, onboarded and trained 70+ new partners in his first year and was the Channel Engagement Officer to Master Agents, becoming the top producer for the program.

Davis is eager to support his region by finding, recruiting, onboarding new agents. He is also excited to work with existing agents in his region to help them utilize TBI's resources to grow their business in 2020. He is happy to have the support of his wife, four kids and one grandchild as he takes on his new role at TBI. "I am very excited to work with our existing new partners to help them explore all the options they can present to their clients so that they can become an indispensable resource," said Davis.

Mark McNeill is joining TBI as the Business Development Manager. In the newly created role, McNeill will collaborate with marketing and solution engineering to craft programs that improve partner business. Focused on sales enablement, McNeill will drive new revenue from targeted, vertical business and emerging technology services that help improve productivity and sales.

McNeill attended Boston University where he first obtained his BA in Economics & Political Science (Cum Laude) and later his Masters in Business Administration. McNeill began his career in telecom sales, holding positions at AT&T, InterCall/West, Ameritech, TelTrust, and ISI Telemanagement Solutions. He was responsible for hiring, training and leading sales and marketing teams at these organizations. McNeill has achieved significant accomplishments in the telecom industry, including launching a conferencing product for Ameritech and growing it to over $500M annual revenue, creating and launching a web presence for ISI that drove over 50 new customer leads per month and increased annual revenue by over $2M, and selling AT&T’s first switching equipment to China. He was also a 6-time President’s Club/Million Dollar Seller’s Club winner for ISI.

McNeill is involved in the Customer Success Management Association, American Association of Inside Sales Professionals and the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society. He's married with one son and a dog. His hobbies include playing in a men’s hockey league and playing the drums. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Crystal Lake South High School Hockey Team and a Saint Vincent de Paul Society member.
