It has been an exciting, yet busy quarter here at TBI! Our HR department has organized events around team building, giving back to the community, and empowering our employees while simultaneously recruiting for TBI’s growth. From participating in the Chase Corporate Challenge in May, to offering a Women’s Unarmed Self Defense Course in June, and being recognized in multiple Glassdoor blogs, it is safe to say that TBI has experienced a rewarding 2nd quarter.
A Race to the Finish Line
TBI employees laced up for our two sponsored fitness events this quarter; The Chase Corporate Challenge on May 25th and the Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis on June 10th. TBI is excited to announce that for the Walk for Crohn’s and Colitis, we landed second place for fundraising, exceeding our goal of $1,500 and raising a total of $4,380. Of course, our employees had a blast, too!
With an effort to maintain our cohesive culture, TBI hosted team building events at the Windy City Fieldhouse this quarter. Randomly selected groups of employees were invited to partake in these events which included unique challenges that taught how to trust, be open to different perspectives, and collaborate with one another while working toward a common goal. Our team members were encouraged to come out of their shells and meet new people they do not work with on a regular basis and with all the positive feedback we have received, TBI will look to invest in more team building events in the future!
With 14 new hires in Q2, it’s no wonder that Glassdoor published a blog featuring TBI as one of the top companies “Hiring Like Crazy” in June. In fact, our National Channel Manager position was recognized in their “Hot Jobs Hiring” blog the same month! As our organization continues to grow, we are appreciative to have had the opportunity to share with thousands of people what a great company TBI is to work for.
Since we are focused on employee engagement and constantly trying to keep abreast of effective HR practices, TBI sent our HR team to New Orleans in June for the annual SHRM Conference. They were joined by 15,000 other HR professionals and learned a great deal from the top experts in the industry.
TBI also offered an Executive Open Forum with the VP of Enterprise Sales and Engineering, Jeff Newton, at our Chicago headquarters. Employees attended to learn more about his specific role within the company and to ask questions about his past experiences, best business advice, and to also get to know Jeff on a more personal level.
Wellness and Empowerment
As part of our Wellness Program, TBI brought in Zeel massage therapists on May 18th for free chair massages for employees. We even offered a Women’s Unarmed Self Defense Course on June 3rd for our female employees. Our participants earned a certificate and spent the day learning self-defense techniques to protect them against possible attackers. We had a great turnout with female employees from all different departments
