TBI Recognizes Emerging Leader, Alejandro Mancera

At TBI, we are all about growing from within and developing our talent. That is why we have created a home-grown Leadership Development Program that gives TBI employees, who are interested in pursuing management, a chance to learn and practice skills that will help prepare them to lead one day. Today, we feature TBI's Data Analyst, Alejandro Mancera.

What is your role at TBI and how long have you been with the organization?Profile Pic - Business - Alejandro Mancera

My current role is a Data Analyst on the Business Intelligence team and I have been with TBI since September 19, 2016 (started in Operations and moved to BI at the beginning of 2019).

What made you interested in participating in TBI's Leadership Development Program?

I am always interested in learning and pushing myself to grow outside of my comfort zone. The Leadership Development Program was an excellent opportunity to expand my toolset and to challenge myself.

What was the biggest takeaway you had from this program?

I have learned that leadership and management, while separate concepts, both are crucial in helping teams and the organization grow as a collective unit. I will strive to always set the best example I can as a future leader and to fulfill my duties in managing my responsibilities for better success.

Who have you looked up to for mentorship in your leadership journey?

Jackie Landuyt was assigned to me as an ambassador for LDP, but beyond that, she has always been an individual who exemplifies what a good leader looks like. It’s a privilege to work alongside Jackie within TBI and I will continue looking up to her for professional advice.

What does leadership mean to you?

Leadership is the ability to learn by putting one’s foot forward and taking meaningful risks while helping others reach success within their personal and professional lives.

What's the best advice you can give to those looking to transition into a leadership role?

Advice: Have the courage to go outside your comfort zone and try out new things. You’ve already reached success by looking to become a leader.
